How can trusted adults use stories to create more purposeful conversations with children?
How can trusted adults use StoryWayFinder™ Books and Guides to support children and families in a deeply empowering way?
How can stories help children better understand themselves and begin to retell their own stories from a strengths-based perspective?
How can skilled conversational and reflective processes be embedded within children's stories and integrated StoryWayFinder™ Guides, and how does their impact differ when used independently or alongside skilled helping support?
How can family support be offered in a way that is accessible, teachable and scalable?
What principles might help develop an evidence-informed StoryWayFinder approach that can be used by families and helping professionals around the world?
Building on Existing Knowledge
StoryWayFinder draws inspiration from many fields, social work, counselling, coaching, teaching, occupational therapy, play therapy, child development theory, narrative approaches, solution-focussed brief therapy and emotion coaching including participatory and grassroots approaches in social work, just to name a few.
As the research develops, this page will grow with research updates, opportunities to participate, recommended reading and reflections from the StoryWayFinder journey.
StoryWayFinder Research isn't simply about producing research papers.
It's about developing a thoughtful, evidence-informed practice that equips and empowers trusted adults to support children through meaningful conversations, creative thinking and personalised ways forward.
If you'd like to follow the journey - or become part of it - I'd love to welcome you. Please reach out to via our Contact Page.
