Lou Lynton is a school counsellor, parent coach, social worker, teacher and author whose work has been shaped by many fulfilling years of supporting children, families and professionals across six countries. Throughout her career, one belief has remained constant: every child and family has remarkable strengths and the capacity to flourish with the right support. Change grows through deep listening, careful attention to detail and an understanding of each person within their family system and wider community. This systems perspective underpins her belief that equipping parents and helpers is fundamental to supporting children.
Known for her warm, creative approach, Lou provides a supportive space for children and adults, exploring and reframing some of life's difficult stories together through a solutions-focused approach. Using imaginative games, activities and evidence-informed helping strategies, Lou's support is carefully tailored to each child's interests and developmental stage, and to each adult's unique way of experiencing the world. Lou works collaboratively with people as they find their way forward.
Lou holds degrees in Social Work and Psychology, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, and Education, alongside further training in psychometric assessment, exam access arrangements as well as extensive experience of training practitioners in Restorative Practices, Conflict Resolution and Mediation. StoryWayFinder brings this breadth of experience together in a thoughtful, strengths-based and evidence-informed but playful approach.
